We stayed at Water’s Edge for 5 nights and can honestly say it was perfect for a quiet getaway from Sydney’s hustle and bustle. When we arrived on the island the friendly real estate staff even helped us with our shopping and pointed a few key essentials in terms of bus details and highlights on the island.
There are a few of restaurants nearby but many more options up on the north side of the island so we spent plenty of time on the regular bus service up and down the main road between the north and south.
Highlights would have to include the almost empty beaches looking out over Townsville and the fabulous Forts Walk at the top of the island where we saw some Koalas snoozing during the day.
The apartment itself is spacious with a spa bath in the main bedroom and plenty of room for kids to spread out and play. Would highly recommend it and will definitely go back at some point in the future.

‘We absolutely love this property, it has everything we want in a holiday home, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, lovely indoors/outdoors aspect, wonderful view and a pool. It is close to the beach, shops, restaurants and bus stop for easy access around the island, or you can hire a car and use the garage provided, we have visited twice and will be back again as soon as we can!’.
